Happy Christmas Everyone!
2023 was a year of expansion (we employed two new developers and a design apprentice - and had to rearrange the office seating plan to accommodate days when everyone is in!), examination (we are looking at how best to integrate AI technology to improve our services), and experimentation (we have been laying the groundwork for some big projects that we expect to build on in the new year).
Website design services
A big success was the rollout of our Beehold project. This was the name we gave our plan to deliver high quality bespoke websites at prices that give the likes of SquareSpace, Yell.com and Wix.com a run for their money. Beehold has had dozens of sign ups and we are planning to incorporate this service into the main RWD fold in the next iteration of the company website coming in the first part of 2024.
Helping people in poverty
One of our clients is Kanndoo - a Community Interest Company that was initially set up to connect homeless people in Norfolk to services that can help them. The elegant mapping and directory system we developed to fulfil this task is getting a lot of admiration - and now we plan to increase the application’s capacity to help. We know we can widen the map of services to cover the whole UK. And by contacting and listing large organisations, the demographic of people that can access help through the Kanndoo app can also be grown from rough sleepers to all people living in poverty.
We've donated hundreds of hours of development time to this cause and next year we'll be relaunching the website and app and asking organisations to verify their details.
Plans for 2024
RWD’s plan for 2024 is to continue to deliver high quality digital services to our existing customers, invite some new ones to experience our way of conducting business, and roll out some experimental projects to see how profitable they might be. All-in-all a lot to look forward to, so watch this space...!
But prior to that, we are taking a short break to enjoy the end of year festivities! The RWD office will be closing for Christmas at 12:30pm on Friday 22nd December, and reopening at 9am on Tuesday 2nd January. If you need to contact us during this time, email info@rwd.group
